MEET THE THERAPIST
My name is Brenda Flores, I am a national board certified and licensed professional counselor who specializes in grief and trauma recovery. I am sensitive to the special and individual needs of my clients and use a holistic approach to treatment.
I use modalities such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prepare/Enrich Couples counseling, and traditional talk therapy.
My experience in counseling comes from working at our local mental health hospital, nonprofit organizations, and
government agency. I provide multicultural and bilingual trauma counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups in the areas of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and violent crimes such as homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, stalking, kidnapping, and human/labor/sex trafficking, among others.
Whether you want to work on processing complex trauma or simply want to assess personal problems, my goal as your therapist is to help you achieve emotional relief and guide you to gain the skills and tools needed to work though difficult situations that are preventing you from reaching your max potential. With my work and experience I hope to bring awareness to the subject of mental wellness and break the stigma that comes along with mental health counseling.
